NY Heat Wave Caused Gas Pumps to Erupt.

An all time high hits Queens NY with temperatures above 100 degrees caused panic to a group. Prior to a road trip the group pulled into a Mobile gas station on Queens Blvd to fuel the van’s gas tank. While fueling gas the van holding 5 and an infant became the center of a vast eruption. The group stated they heard a forceful explosion, with a sound as rough as a heavy whistling hiss. The vehicle was engulfed in a cloud of some sort. The group inside, didn’t know what to think, one girl said “ I could feel the intense rumbling beneath my feet, I thought it was over, any second everything was going to explode.” The group existed the vehicle as quickly as possible, with the exception of 2 girls and the baby, one girl was struggling to get the baby out of its car seat, the strap was being difficult, the two freed the baby and was able to escape this unknown event. The gas attendant claims it was a safety measure. The pumps were over heated triggering Baking soda to erupt in order to prevent something worse.
