Essentially a story can be developed by some kind of lead. It could be a press release issues by public sources, any kind of initial information even a point of interest. The story starts with an idea, then developed by finding the answers to additional question, or even by adding a certain spin on the story to generate a good headline. Stories usually fall under an On- or Off-dairy category, meaning On-diary is a story that cannot be predicted and the Off–dairy story cannot.
